This is not a direct translation but hopefully conveys a similar sentiment 🙂
With a good dose of anger
I came to harangue her
But see it wasn’t to be
As she laughed with some guile
My heart suddenly slipped a mile
And I broke into a loving smile
Charmed by her innocent rapture
She grinned and made me forget
If at least for a while
Why I was standing there beside her !

Very cute! Whimsical while also well-contrived. Reminds me of William Carlos Williams’ brief simple lines conveying an ordinary yet exultant experience.
Thank you! I’ve been looking up William Carlos Williams and came across this quote from him
“ Forget all rules, forget all restrictions, as to taste, as to what ought to be said, write for the pleasure of it… – William Carlos Williams ” I’m not familiar with his work and I hope to be but I definitely follow his philosophy. Thank you for reading and for the wonderful feedback 🙂
