Our ‘Christmas vacation’ options this year are limited to being ‘Home Alone’ during the quarantine thanks to Covid and the 2020 saga of ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’. That’s how our Halloween was – nothing but a ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’. Texas has no snow for a ‘White Christmas’ to work on a ‘Frosty the Snowman’ and the ‘Elf’ on our shelf can only entertain so much. ‘Last Christmas’ we were on a ‘Christmas Vacation’ but now it’s not safe to check in to any ‘Holiday Inn‘ or go ‘Shop around the corner’ and the sad thing is there’s no use ‘Trading Places’ with anyone in the world as we’re all in the same predicament facing an ironically ‘Silent Night’ for Christmas.
What’s worse is my husband, a thorough ‘Family Man’ will be out of town busy working till ‘Christmas Eve’ so it’s ‘Nothing like the holidays’ we are used to having.Anyhow that’s our ‘Christmas Story’. It feels like ‘Serendipity’ that we get a chance to watch Christmas movies all Christmas as it’s our plan this year for ‘Surviving Christmas’anyways. ‘The Christmas Spirit’ could use some cheer as it still is ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ after-all.
